Federal Pacific Electric Panel Recall

Keeping your Family and Home Safe

Little’s Quality Contracting wants to keep our customers safe by keeping them informed about one of the most dangerous situations regarding a safety recall involving electrical panels manufactured by Federal Pacific.

Affected Panels and Breakers

The Federal Pacific electric panel with Stab-Lok breakers is a common sight in homes built between 1950 and 1990. These units with Stab-Lok circuit breakers have been found to overheat and fail to properly trip.  Both of these defects have been the cause of electrocution and fires.

Take a Quick Look at Your Electrical Panel

It’s important for homeowners and renters to check their electric panels and see the property has one of these defective units installed.  If you determine that you have a Federal Pacific Breaker Panel you should immediately make arrangements with a qualified, licensed, and insured electrician to replace your electrical panel because Federal Pacific electric panels with Stab-Lok breakers do not meet the requirements of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) or Underwriters Laboratories.

If you determine that your electrical panel was not manufactured by Federal Pacific, you should also look to see if it was manufactured by  Zinsco or Challenger as these electrical panels have also been identified as faulty units that should be replaced.

Hidden Dangers of Defective and Recalled Electrical Panels

A safety hazard for your electrical panel could be lurking behind the metal box. What’s actually posing a problem is those Stab-Lok circuit breakers, which can cause fire or electrocution if not removed from service promptly enough! To determine whether yours are among this batch of dangerous electrical panels we recommend taking photos and sending them over so one of our team members may inspect it thoroughly on behalf of you; just contact us first before any other action is taken regarding these recalls
